Functionally Graded Graphene Reinforced Nanocomposite (FG-GPLRC) Structures Subjected to Electrical Field
Dr. Yu Wang
ABSTRACT:
Graphene platelets (GPLs) reinforced polymer nanocomposite is a promising multi-functional material candidate due to its combination of excellent mechanical and electrical properties. To fully utility their mechanical and electrical properties, graphene platelets are employed to act as reinforcing additives for functionally graded polymer nanocomposite. Such nanocomposite structures offer unique advantages with significantly improved mechanical properties by making the best use of the extraordinary properties of graphene reinforcements as well as remarkable electrical properties and dielectric properties, making it ideal candidate for the development of new generation smart composite structures. This talk presents the latest developments in this area, with a particular focus on (1) micromechanics of graphene platelets reinforced nanocomposites, i.e. mechanical properties, electrical properties and dielectric properties (2) linear and nonlinear structural behaviours of FG-GPLRC structures subjected to electrical field.
